Description
The VOC Youth Worker Course is practical training for school teachers and community workers who support children to share their views in family matters. You will learn the Voice of the Child (VOC) approach, how to set up a safe space, how to use non-leading techniques, and how to record a neutral child-voice summary that stays within scope. The programme covers children’s behaviour and neurodiversity, what to do if a child discloses abuse, and South African reporting duties using Form 22 and Section 54. The focus is child-focused practice, ethical boundaries, POPIA-aligned documentation, and confident collaboration in a multidisciplinary team.
Format: 12 modules with 16–20 hours theory and 6–8 hours practical role-play. Optional supervision available.
Entry requirement: Matric or equivalent.
Certification: Certificate of Completion for the school and community worker stream.
