Who should attend:
- Mediators in need to refresh, attorneys, advocates, social workers, psychologists, counselors, coaches, clergy, HR managers and all involved in conflict resolution management.
- This course is also suitable for students in the legal and mental health professions
This accredited course will equip people from different professions with the necessary knowledge, tools and skills to become a mediator.
The learning programme is aligned with PSETA SAQA Unit Standard 117848 - Conduct Mediation in situations that require Advanced Skills. It teaches hands-on general mediation skills and the drafting of the necessary agreements.
The optional courses in “Divorce Law & Finance” and “Psychology & Awareness” will allow mediators to specialize and get accredited as Divorce & Family Mediators.
Upon successful completion of the course participants will be competent to:
- Prepare for mediation
- Engage in mediation
- Evaluate mediation processes
- Co-mediate
- Write a Memorandum of Understanding
