Who should attend:
  • Mediators in need to refresh, attorneys, advocates, social workers, psychologists, counselors, coaches, clergy, HR managers and all involved in conflict resolution management.
  • This course is also suitable for students in the legal and mental health professions 
This 5 day accredited course will equip people from different professions with the necessary knowledge, tools and skills to become a mediator. The learning programme is aligned with PSETA SAQA Unit Standard 117848 - Conduct Mediation in situations that require Advanced Skills. It teaches hands-on general mediation skills and the drafting of the necessary agreements. The optional  courses in “Divorce Law & Finance”(12 hours in 2 days) and “Psychology & Awareness”(12 hours in 3 days) will allow mediators to specialize and get accredited as Divorce & Family Mediators. Upon successful completion of the course participants will be competent to:
  • Prepare for mediation
  • Engage in mediation
  • Evaluate mediation processes
  • Co-mediate
  • Write a Memorandum of Understanding
